Is Amber an ERP?
No. Amber is the operating system for the make and move side of a consumer brand: product development, sourcing, quoting, purchase orders, production, inbound freight, and customs. An ERP is a financial ledger holding the latest state, and yours stays exactly where it is. Amber keeps the operational history behind those numbers and syncs it downstream.
We have years of data in spreadsheets and an old PLM. Can Amber use any of it?
Yes. Bringing in existing product data, cost history, and supplier records is part of onboarding, not something your team does alone afterward.
Does Amber replace our ERP or our product system?
It doesn't have to, but it can. Most brands arrive with no dedicated product system at all and move their product data into Amber outright. On the ERP side, Amber takes the operational half: orders, production, freight, landed cost, reconciliation. The accounting ledger stays wherever you keep it.
